Viagra
What Is Viagra?

Viagra originated as a
medication designed for the relief of heart cramps and
associated heart disease. Viagra was supposed to increase blood flow
to the heart. The active ingredient sildenafil didn't
sufficiently open the veins to increase blood flow to the heart, but patients
that were undergoing the clinical trials noticed more blood flow to the
penis. Pfizer Laboratories took notice when the patients didn't
want to give their remaining medication back.
Now Viagra is a tablet that is
prescribed for men with impotence (erectile dysfunction). Viagra
helps men with erectile dysfunction to achieve an erection and maintain
it when the penis is sexually stimulated. Please note here that
Viagra doesn't cause an erection, it only allows the user to achieve and
maintain an erection when sexually stimulated.
Side
Effects
Research and clinical trials
have shown that the body absorbs Viagra very well. If you take Viagra and
develop cardiac symptoms (for example, dizziness, nausea, and chest pain) during
sexual activity, do not continue. Alert your doctor to the
problem as soon as possible. If any side effects are experienced, it is usually
temporary and to a lesser degree. Some of the most common side
effects are :
-
Headache
-
Diarrhea
-
Blocked nose
-
Urinary tract infection
-
Visual impairment
-
Light sensitivity.
The Right Dosage
Viagra is usually prescribed as
one tablet, taken one hour before sex. Viagra can however be taken between
30 minutes and four hours before sexual activity. If an erection lasts
longer than 4 hours, a physician should be contacted. Doses range
from 25 milligrams to 100 milligrams, depending on the drug''s effect. The usual
dose is 50 milligrams. If you are over 65, have liver or kidney
problems, or are taking erythromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, or
saquinavir a dose of 25 milligrams may be sufficient. Your doctor will adjust
the dosage if the drug is not working properly for you.
Take Viagra only before sexual
activity. Pfizer recommends a maximum of 1 dose per day (1 dose every 2 days for
those taking ritonavir). Order your Viagra here...
How
Should It Be Stored?
Store Viagra
away from direct light and heat. Store in a dry location; avoid storing it in
the bathroom, near sinks, or other areas where it may become damp. Do not use
after the expiration date. Keep Viagra away from children; both
when storing it, and when discarding any unused medication.
Viagra is a prescription
medication and should not be used as a recreation drug. It is only
available from your doctor after a consultation.
